I've been having my high school Junior-to-be campers blog this past couple of weeks, and they've said some interesting things. I summarized the first go around in a previous post. They completed a second round yesterday. Here are the things I found interesting this time around:
You might expect today's teens to display either dogmatic adherence to parental influence or existential angst (isn’t this what we went through at that age?), but these kids seem to be very balanced philosophically. They ask good questions and make some good points, such as this perspective on the conflicts between science and religion from one of my students named An. Or this perspective on future shock across generations from Claudia.
One student posted an essay on the possibility that Mileva Meric Einstein was the true Genius behind Einstein.
Many students talk about career aspirations. Many others simply try to define what math and science means to their lives and the world in general. You can find them all at StuBlog.
Some rap, while others are more formal, but I'd like to close with the perspective of one student who's Just Takin It All In!
