We take it for granted that water flowing from our taps is clean. clean water, especially clean drinking water can be a matter of life and death. Unclean water is greatest killer of children all around the world , specially in the 3rd world countries. lack of clean water is major cause of disease . 1.1 billion people lack access to clean water for drinking. According to a recent UN report, unclean water is a sure predictior of shortened life span. the importance of clean water cannot be overstated. A human body is made of over 70% water. We are comprised mostly of water. A clean water intake can help us in many ways. Clean water is essential and for this water pollution prevention is important. There are lots of ways we can prevent water pollutions. Our kids should be well taught about water and its importance and how to keep water clean and how to prevent water pollution. State should take initiatives to prevent water pollutiona by having building codes to build new buildings, laws for polluting water. Neighborhood committees should have clear rules for not dumping waste through storm sewer. House hold hazardous waste such as polishes, cleaners , pesticides can contaminate landfills . So we should be careful of using them . To relieve the environment from the impact of household hazardous waste, we can reduce, reuse, recycle, and use less toxic in daily life. the city and county should develop guidelines . Rivers are important source of water but used as dumping ground. We should think about this now , so whatever we have can be saved. All of us should try to prevent water pollution and try to conserve water to ensure a continuing abundance. We should keep our water clean.

There are organizations and technologies today that help under developed countries in getting clean water to the people. I think more people should help in supporting these organizations and it isn't even very expensive for the countries to do. Even in the US we have to maintain our waters.

I think another important thing we can do for our children is to truly educate them on the difference between what is in the tap and what is in the bottle. I know many children who will refuse to drink from the tap because they think it is dirty or unclean, when in reality its nearly the same water that is neatly packaged in a bottle (minus the leftover trash).

Sometimes I get really mad, when people don’t drink water because as they say… “It doesn’t taste good”, really? I find it extremely annoying when people say that, its like have you ever stopped to think that maybe tomorrow there could be no more dirking water at all. People in 3rd world countries wish they had a water bottle to drink, and for someone to be just so dumb to say things like that is crazy. Let’s be real, it’s all about money now a days, or maybe it’s always been that way. Either way people can really care less where waste/trash is ending up as long as they don’t have to pay that much to “dispose of it”. If they saved 5 cents, I’m pretty sure people would start throwing things in the ocean. We really need to start thinking about conserving water, keeping our oceans, rivers, lakes CLEAN, and unpolluted. I know that there are new ways of getting water cleaned but how long will one be able to get water clean enough for us to drink it, if pollution keeps getting worse?!

The place where I grew up in Mexico, only has water during certain times of the day. I know what it is like to not have water when needed. It bothers me so much that people do not know how lucky they are to have water available everyday at any given time of the day. I hate driving by my neighborhood after it rains all day, or during the rain and people have their sprinklers on!!!! I do not understand that. They are wasting so many gallons of water when their grass has already been saturated with water from the rain. Something has to be done about that. Those people need to get fined.

What will we do without drinking water? It is amazing to see that a lot of people take water for granted and they don’t realize that one day we have be one of those countries that are out of water. We as humans need to drink a lot of water. I am one of those persons who most of the time is walking with a bottle of water, so for me taking care of our water resources is very important. Why do we keep polluting the ocean, rivers, and lakes when all they do is to provide us with some water? We need to become more conscious about our water resources.

I know some people who've had experience with bad water. For instance, a person cut their finger and naturlly ran it under the water before putting a bandaid on. This caused an infection to her entire hand because of this simple act that most people do when they live where the water is good. I'm thankful the water in the States is clean enough where we can do things like that.
